PC Simon Harwood Stencil.

I’ve Just heard theres a media Gagging order regarding PC Simon Harwood. It seems he’s been a naughty boy before and they don’t want anyone to know about it.

Of course, not everyone wants an incredibly tasteful Glow in the Dark PC Simon Harwood T-Shirt.

So i knocked up this Quick easy to make Stencil so you can spray it wherever you like.

Sorry for not replying earlier –
Software i use that is free is Inkscape (vector software) and Gimp – both of these are ‘Open Source’ programs.. I also use Photoshop.

I’ll try to write an in depth tutorial soon.

    A brief explanation is…

Take the image you wish to make a ‘high contrast’ stencil image of.
Put it on a layer on its own in Gimp – erase the parts of the image you do not want (essentially cutting out the picture).
    Then – de-saturate the image.

You can then try using the Brightness/contrast or the Gradient map tool to change it to a two tone image.
Making it work as a stencil requires further painting.

Then put this image into Inkscape. It has a “Trace bitmap” function. Do that, and then with the vectorised image, remove the fill and give it a thin outline so you don’t waste all your printer ink.

The most practical stencil material i have found is oiled manilla card – which you can glue your stencil onto.
Whatever you use – make sure its not to thin – even thin card lifts a lot from the pressure of a spray can.
